Tyler Perry has spoken about the times he tried to kill himself.

The movie producer made the revelation in the wake of DJ tWitch committing suicide.

Taking to Instagram, Perry revealed that the pain and sexual abuse he had faced in the past spurred him to try to end his life.

He said, "I had endured so much pain, so much abuse, sexual abuse, it was all so hard to just move through that I thought the only way to make this better was to end my life."

Perry then shared that he "would've missed the best part" of his life if his attempts had succeeded.

He also urged his listeners to seek professional help if they were going through tough times.

Using himself as an example, Perry stated that he is a "living witness" things can get better.
