Acclaimed director Tim Burton has revealed that he has no interest in directing any film within the Marvel Universe.
He spoke about the future of his film career and said that Disney has now become homogenized and consolidated.
Burton also clarified that he’s never considered directing a Marvel film because he can’t deal with a “multi-universe.”
Burton also revealed that Disney has “hired and fired” him severally and that he’d likely not work with the studio in the near future.
The Director spoke about his experience working with Disney on the live-action adaptation of “Dumbo” in 2019.
He called “Dumbo” autobiographical and revealed he also needed to escape the circus that is Disney.
Burton was also honored with the Prix Lumiere award at the Lumiere festival and said it re-energized his love for film.
Several Hollywood stars have received the Prix Lumière, including Jane Campion and Martin Scorsese.
The director said he plans to complete “Wednesday,” his upcoming spin-off from Netflix’s “The Addams Family.”
