Shakira is starting 2023 with a fresh new perspective on life.

The singer had a pretty rough 2022. She and her partner of nearly 12 years, Gerard Piqué, split up after she caught him having an affair.

Shakira was also slapped with a massive lawsuit from the Spanish government.

They claim she failed to pay millions in taxes and want her to potentially spend eight-years in prison.

Through all the trials and tribulations that 2022 presented to Shakira, the Colombian-native is picking her head up and continuing to go full steam ahead.

“Although our wounds continue to be open in this new year, time has surgeon's hands. Even if someone has betrayed us, we have to keep trusting,” Shakira wrote.

“Our tears are not a waste, they water the soil where the future will be born and make us more human, so in the midst of heartbreak we can continue to love. Shak❣️”
