Singer Omar Apollo has responded to allegations of baiting queer people with the themes in his music.
The "Stayback" crooner stated on Twitter that he was honestly expressing his authentic self as a queer person in his music.
He penned, "no i b sucking d*ck fr," in response to a fan question asking whether he indulged in queerbaiting.
In the post's comment section, fans applauded the singer for being so "real" about his sexuality.
In an interview with NPR earlier in the year, Apollo confirmed that he was gay.
At the time, he explained that he had tried to be mysterious but has now changed his view.
He said, “I was trying to be mysterious and stuff, but now I'm just like — I'm very gay, so I'm just like, whatever.”
The singer was recently nominated for the Best New Artist Category for the 2023 Grammy Awards following the release of his full debut album "Ivory.”
He was nominated alongside artists like Latto and Anitta in the catergory.
