Mathew Perry recently shared how he almost lost his life amid his addiction struggles.
He opened up about how he deceived the doctors in a rehab center to give him pain drugs which he used to satisfy his addiction.
The actor was also scheduled to take surgery at the time.
The combination of the pain drugs and the anesthesia caused Perry's heart to flatline.
Although he was saved via CPR, he broke eight ribs in the process.
The pain from the broken ribs made it impossible for the actor to return to the set of "Don't Look Up."
Perry's upcoming memoir Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing detail the story of his addiction.
The book debuts on November 1.
The actor shared he wrote the book to help people in similar situations
