Fans feel, Matthew Perry is the bigger man for sharing the story of his addiction and eventual sobriety.
That said, since he trashed Keanu Reeves in a couple of book excerpts, the Internet is having trouble being all that empathetic with him.
Media outlets have released a few excerpts from his upcoming memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing.”
In it, Perry talked about his good friend, River Phoenix’s death, and ended with a rather dubious statement.
Wrote Perry, “Why is it that the original thinkers like River Phoenix and Heath Ledger die, but Keanu Reeves still walks among us?”
He made another mention of the same, writing about comedian Chris Farley’s death as well.
The immediate backlash did get Perry to apologize, as he mentioned he chose Keanu Reeves as a random name, but should not have done it.
That said; the Internet is not convinced because he has mentioned Reeves more than just once, seemingly angry about Reeves’ continued existence.
Reeves himself has not commented on the same although the Internet is more than ready to unite and fight on his behalf. Perry better be wary!
