Mariah Careys wish to trademark “Queen of Christmas” title may never come true.
The singing diva was blocked by a Judge from trademarking the festive moniker.
Carey saw great opposition from several people when her intention to trademark the term was made known.
Singer Elizabeth Chan, who is also referred to as the “Queen Of Christmas,” filled a suit to block Carey from trademarking the term.
According to Chan, “It is wrong for an individual to attempt to own and monopolize a nickname like Queen of Christmas for the purposes of abject materialism.”
Per the Daily Mail, Chan’s legal rep called Carey’s move a “classic case of trademark bullying.”
Carey was also called out by 81-year-old singer, Darlene Love for her trademarking attempt.
Carey’s hit Christmas single “All I Want For Christmas Is You” is known for dominating the festive period.
She is yet to respond to her plan getting thwarted.
