Greta Gerwig admitted that she was "terrified" to be directing the upcoming "Barbie" film.
She made the confession during her appearance on Dua Lipa's "At Your Service" podcast.
"It was terrifying. I think that was a big part of it," she said, recalling her worries about the project.
The filmmaker said that she worried whether the result could mar her career.
She lauded Martell, who owns the Barbie franchise for making the production less challenging.
Robbie plays the lead in the film in addition to her production role.
She stars alongside Ryan Gosling, who plays Ken.
Other cast members include Simu Liu, Issa Rae, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, America Ferrera, and Will Ferrell.
The upcoming movie debuts in the cinema in July 2023.
