Tyler James Williams recalled his close call with death after being diagnosed with Crohn’s Disease.
The actor said he was told he had the ailment after he visited the hospital to deal with excruciating stomach discomfort.
Williams stated that before the visit, he was unable to keep fluids or food down.
He underwent surgery to help him get better but suffered some complications.
For months, he could only feed using an IV connected to his veins.
He ultimately changed his lifestyle to a healthier one after his recovery.
The health scare also made him only seek “purpose-driven roles.”
Williams played the role of Gregory Eddie in the award-winning series “Abbott Elementary.”
He recently took home the Golden Globe win for Best supporting actor in a TV series for the role.
