The Buccaneers quarterback announced the divorce on Instagram on Friday.

“There are a lot of professionals in life who go through things that they deal with at work and they deal with at home,” Brady said. “I’m really focused on two things, taking care of my family and definitely my kids. Second, doing my best to win football games.”
On Instagram, the 45-year-old said he and Bendchen, 42, decided to divorce “after much consideration.”
Brady also said that he has gone through many obstacles off the field throughout his NFL career, but being a professional player has helped him overcome most of the difficulties.
“I have dealt with a lot of challenging situations on and off the field over the course of 23 years and a lot of it has been exposed to people,” he said. “Everybody’s going through different things. We all have unique challenges in life. We’re all human. We do the best we can.”
Brady and Bündchen married in 2009 and have two children together. Brady also has a 15-year-old son from a previous relationship with actress Bridget Moynahan. Both said they would continue to prioritize their children through co-parenting.
The announcement comes amid divorce rumors following Brady’s decision to return to the NFL in March, just a month after he announced his retirement.
It also comes after a series of events that included Brady’s disappearance for 11 days in the preseason and Bundchen’s interview with Elle magazine in which the supermodel said, “Obviously, I have my concerns — it It’s a very violent game, and I have my kids and I like to be more present.”
The seven-time Super Bowl champion has channeled some of his frustrations about being away from loved ones by focusing on his career.
