Family members of the 37-year-old country music artist say they are “heartbroken by this tragic loss.”
WASHINGTON — The family of country music artist Jack Flint, who died Sunday hours after getting married, has released a public statement and shared details of funeral arrangements.
Flint, 37, died in his sleep after marrying Brenda Wilson on Saturday, his longtime publicist confirmed. The official cause of death has not been determined.
In a statement, Flint’s family said they were heartbroken by the tragic loss and that the Oklahoma singer-songwriter “valued his family, friendships and living life to the fullest, which is reflected in his songwriting.” . His fans added, “While we are saddened to know what could have happened, we are grateful that his talent and love lives on in his songs.”
“We should be going through the wedding pictures but instead I have to get my husband some clothes to bury,” Flint’s wife, Brenda wrote in a Facebook post earlier this week. “People aren’t meant to feel this much pain. My heart is gone and I really need it back. I can’t take it anymore. I need it here.”

According to its website, Jake Flint lived in Tulsa, Oklahoma and was the son of a “wildcat oilman and a hard-working mother of two.” He started making music when his father was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig’s disease.
