Disney’s new “Little Mermaid” live-action movie is expected to hit theaters in May 2023.
ANAHEIM, Calif. — Disney unveiled the first peak at Halle Bailey’s Ariel in a new teaser trailer for the live-action reboot. “Little Jalpri.”
The minute-long trailer immerses fans in underwater scenes until Bailey appears swimming around a green-tailed, redheaded mermaid. Near the end, fans get a full glimpse of a transformed Bailey singing “Part of Your World.”
Fans of The Singing Mermaid can expect to see Bailey’s Ariel in theaters on May 26, 2023.
Disney unveiled the teaser at its fan expo D23 in Anaheim, Calif., on Friday, where other films like “Inside Out 2” and “Lion King” prequels were also announced.
Bailey has been cast alongside Jonah Hor-King, who plays Prince Eric, Melissa McCarthy who plays Ursula.
Director Rob Marshall said fans can expect new songs by Lin-Manuel Miranda and Alan Menken in the remake of the 1989 cartoon film. USA Today reported..
Disney continued its Fan Expo on Saturday where it unveiled a lineup of Marvel projects. Among them was new footage from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” that was shown to eager fans at the expo.
Angela Bassett and Winston Duke were among the cast members who portrayed the part of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” which is set for release on November 11.
The series shows a team trying to steal some of the nation’s precious vibranium from Wakanda, and a team from Wakanda beating them.
It’s unclear how the film will deal with the death of the first film’s title star, Chadwick Boseman, who died of colon cancer in 2020.
But the footage acknowledges that her character T’Challa is dead, and suggests that her sister Shuri, played by Letitia Wright, could be the next Black Panther.
