Police in the Philadelphia suburb of Cherry Hill said Saturday that Bossey, 78, had been charged a day earlier with criminal sexual intercourse and harassment.

CHERRY HILL, NJ — Actor Gary Busey has been charged with sexual assault at a fan convention in New Jersey this month.

Busey, 78, was charged Friday with two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual intercourse, one count of attempted criminal sexual intercourse and one count of harassment, Cherry Hill police said Saturday.

Police said the charges stemmed from crimes at the annual Monster Mania convention Aug. 12-14 at the Doubletree Hotel in the Philadelphia suburb of Cherry Hill.

Bassey, who lives in Malibu, California, was scheduled to be the special guest for all three days of the event.

Police did not immediately respond to a message seeking details. It was also unclear whether Bossy had an attorney available to comment on the allegations, and a representative did not immediately return a message seeking comment Saturday.

Busey is largely known as a character actor, mostly in supporting roles, although he came to attention and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Actor for playing the title role in the 1978 film “The Buddy Holly Story.” .
